‘Chance’ is the new single from German alternative band Roomer. It’s an instantly addictive, slowly unravelling cut that forces your attention from its mellow opening moments, right through to the washed-out textures of its climax. The band lure you in with that soft, slow folk, but prove their musical malleability by gradually introducing layers of dissonant, droning distortion. The band elaborate: “Leaving it all to chance, I think that's best. As if testing the weight of those words. Sensing their density mid-air. Fully aware that sometimes it is fate that must do the heavy lifting. A step forward without reaching, only tracing the outlines. Flame shards flicker, light and shadow held between fingers—a give and take, searching for something just out of reach. The simplest of desires.
